What can you put on a Flashtex card?
Add text, pictures, and sketches to either side of a Flashtex card. Use Markdown and LaTeX to format what you write.
Each Flashtex card has a question and an answer. You can add text, images, and sketches to either side, and use more than one of each. When you add text, you can format it with Markdown or write equations in LaTeX.
For example, put a heart diagram on the question side and ask, “Which chamber is marked?” On the answer side, write its name and add a sketch showing where it sits in the heart. You can change the order of the fields in the card editor.
Write and format text
Choose Text for a question, an answer, or both. A field can hold a single sentence or a longer explanation. If the explanation needs a list, heading, emphasis, or table, write it in Markdown.
You can put an equation in that same field using LaTeX. Wrap inline math in single dollar signs, as in $x^2$, or use double dollar signs to display a formula on its own line, as in $$f(x)=x^2$$. Flashtex renders the result with KaTeX.
The Markdown and LaTeX guide covers more formatting, including links, code, cloze deletions, and KaTeX’s supported functions.
Add a picture
Choose Image to put a picture on the question or answer side. You can select one from your photo library or paste one from the clipboard. On devices with a camera, you can also take a photo or scan a document. Add Text beside the image if it needs a question or explanation.
You can also open an inserted image, draw on it with Markup, and save the edited copy to the card.
Draw or write by hand
Choose Sketch to draw a diagram or write by hand with Apple Pencil or your finger. If you want an equation you can edit as text, type it in LaTeX in a Text field.
